Realism: Blaine Crocker

I created this image to relfect my goofy personality. Realism started because artist were tired of fabricating life and some of the injustices. Creating this piece I wasen't trying to make myself beautiful, I was just reflecting me.

Feminist Art Self Portrait By: Abi Irwin

This photo right here was created in Adobe Photoshop. Originally taken by a camera back in 2006. I really thought it would be a great idea to upload this and show everyone what feminist art is about. Now this isn't finished. I do plan updating this photo and publishing a new one. Hope you all like this one.

Philip Ledbetter Self Portraits

 "Self Portrait 2"
 Acrylic on poster board.
"Self Portrait"
Acrylic on canvas.

I submitted two self portraits because after I painted the first one, I was on a roll. This is typical when I get into "Abstract Expressionism". It's a very energetic style that requires very little, or no planning at all, which is precisely the point. The artist endeavors to push his judgements, preconceptions and conscious thought to one side, while his or her subconscious leads the way. Use the color that beckons to you, apply it freely, without thinking about the final product. "Express" your inner-self through the medium. It's fun, and it's easy. Give it a try! And don't forget to put on your favorite music when you do.

Video/New Media Art - Self Portrait - Erica Friberg

When I Hear Kris Allen singing "Live like We're Dying" I can't help but want to live up to the challenge.

When creating this video I considered the ways people present themselves publicly compared to how they act when no one is around.  The silhouette shows my true expression towards life, full of movement, passion and interest; just showing that I want to make every moment count.

The screen represents the barrier between ourselves and others, how people tend to hide their true selves.  Seeing the form's physical, emotional movement inspires me to let my "true self" out for everyone to see.

Randi Bachman- Conceptual Art

Solo for Cello- Based on George Brecht's work Solo for Violin. - I chose this piece to reinterpret because I thought it was a clever turn on words and I personally really enjoy his work that he did in the Fluxus cooperative.
